My husband and I moved to Knoxville about three years ago from San Diego, CA. While in San Diego I worked as a civil contractor for the United States Navy as a research coordinator on an international HIV/Aids training program. Through this program I saw firsthand how research and education works together to increase the quality and longevity of people’s lives. If we allow it, research completed today can and will change a person’s life tomorrow.
Besides research, one of my other passions is helping people, specifically children, increase their overall health so they can live the best life possible. Childhood obesity has reached epidemic proportions in the United States and other Western countries. Kids are now living with chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension because of their obesity, and we may be seeing the first generation to not outlive their parents because of it. Many times these health issues could be alleviated if we would make physical activity and healthy eating a part of our daily lifestyle. This is a fight we cannot afford to lose, and I am committed to helping out in any way I can.
I am happy to be joining GI for Kids, PLLC to coordinate the research and educational programs currently being performed here that are positively changing children’s lives each and every day. You can find the research our practice is currently involved in and the educational programs currently being offered for various health conditions throughout this website.
